By moving toward more sustainable practices and incorporating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria into business management, we are helping to influence standards and drive positive change on a global scale. Exporting Brazilian specialty coffees requires more than just quality in the cup; it demands responsibility toward people, the environment, our partners, and the origin of every single coffee bean.
EcoVadis acts as a sustainability rating platform that evaluates companies’ ESG performance. The platform translates the complexity of this vast supply chain into ratings to ensure that commitments turn into real management practices. To achieve this, its methodology analyzes policies, actions, and indicators across four core themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
The platform utilizes a global standard that analyzes and measures the sustainability performance of over 175,000 companies across more than 180 countries, thereby ensuring that words match actions. By transforming the complexity of supply chains into reliable metrics, EcoVadis offers a comprehensive view of how commitments become actual management practices.
By passing this rigorous analysis, we have certified the effectiveness of our governance; earning this medal reinforces Bourbon’s commitment to continuous improvement. To ensure a more sustainable, traceable, and secure supply chain, our operations are divided into the following areas:
Environmental Management: Monitoring of energy, water, emissions, and waste, alongside chemical controls and proper waste disposal.
Food and Customer Safety: Application of HACCP/HARPC methodologies, hazard analysis, contaminant control, traceability, and recall plans.
Labor and Human Rights: Management of occupational risks, medical exams, accident prevention, training, working conditions, and social dialogue.
Concrete Sustainability Measures: Procedures and controls effectively implemented, recognized as one of the key strengths of the evaluation.
